“Namakubi” is a Japanese term that translates to “severed head” or “separated head.” In Japanese culture and particularly Japanese tattoo art, “namakubi” refers to artistic depictions of severed human heads, often in a realistic and detailed style. These tattoos can have a variety of meanings, but are generally associated with themes of strength, bravery, and overcoming challenges.
Either way, its a gruesome one to be sure! I tattoo these images on a regular basis, but as a painting, its probably not one for the kids room.
